Business Technology Consultant

Job Description:

The right candidate for this job has experience with server system administration, network administration, and software development in a Microsoft centric environment. The candidate can apply this broad experience in business situations to create solutions that meet a business need.

System administration includes:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003
• Microsoft Server platforms
  • Exchange
  • SQL
  • Terminal Services
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy

Network Administration includes:

• Conversant knowledge of routers, firewalls, and switches
• Conversant knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP

Software Development includes:

• Microsoft Access programming
• HTML, CSS, and ASP
• SQL Server knowledge a plus
• Visual Basic knowledge a plus

All work is performed in the Atlanta metro area.

• Maintain a high degree of professionalism with clients and contacts
• Manage client expectations to completion of tasks and projects.
• Manage system and/or network issues to resolution.
• Maintain a holistic view of the client business including systems, networks, and software.
• Be able to communicate effectively to a non technical audience.
• Be able to demonstrate good troubleshooting skills/methods.
• Be able to operate within set guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Desire to continue learning and attaining new skills.

This is a salaried position that includes a mileage reimbursement and health insurance.

Salary is based on both system/network administration and software development activities. Billable software development activities receive a premium incentive as compared to system/network administration.

Bonuses and incentives for acquiring certifications are available.
