Delve into some new Discoveries
Office Delve, also known as Codename “Oslo”, is known for its heavy integration with the Office Graph to receive the most up-to-date and relevant information straight to your fingertips – with only the click of a mouse. New updates to the software have begun bringing users even more information, in more than one way.
“A company’s most important assets are its people—YOU. The knowledge and experience of you and your colleagues collectively brings great value to your company. And as you communicate and work out loud together within Office 365, the value of your work can be surfaced and discovered by others in Delve”
This is the center-piece in Microsoft’s of recent updates to Delve. Here’s what’s new:
- The addition of people-based search. This includes, not only the ability to find documents and activities that a specific person has been working on, but also a new “profile page” where you can see competencies, chain-of-command, and other very “LinkedIn”-esque type information. However, unlike LinkedIn, this is internally-facing, so only those in your Office 365 network can see it.
- Next, is an “authoring canvas”, allowing Delve users to create an internally-facing blog to express themselves.
- Finally, mobile friendly apps for Delve on iOS and Android have also been released. No Windows app yet – but it’s on the Office Roadmap.
