“Sway” Your Customers with a New Marketing Tool
One of the trending topics in our recent Weekly Digest e-mails has been a marketing tool that Microsoft has been rolling out for a while now called Sway. The preview is currently available for anybody to use. It’s a fascinating piece of software that we at RoseBud Technologies believe could be molded into a variety of different resources for businesses of any size.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Sway, it’s a multi-platform app that is geared towards creating and sharing a polished, interactive, web-based canvas of ideas. Because of the vast consumer base that Microsoft has, they are marketing it towards everybody; However, I see it as a well-rounded marketing and presentation tool that is free with your Microsoft account and very easy to mold for your business effectively.
In Sway, you can use pictures, videos, and text to display your ideas on a page-scroll based platform. The software designs the Sway automatically and uses built-in intelligence to represent your content in what it believes is the most efficient way. Keyword searches built into Sway use Bing Search to pull content relevant to your topics from across the internet to you.
When I typed the keyword “Dolphins” into the Bing Search Bar, the images and video that I selected were placed directly into the presentation as shown above.
To show how simple and effective the tool was, we decided to create a Sway containing information about the Microsoft Technology Center and the sessions that we hold there around Office 365. The direct link to the Sway that we created is located here.
Here is the embedded version of the Sway so you can see another application of the presentation:
As you can see, the Sway presentation is viewable extremely well in both the native website and as an embed. Imagine how something so simple and easy to use and customize can be used across-the-board as a marketing tool.
Our informational Sway was just one of many different ways that you can market to your customers with Sway. Some of the other ideas that have come to our minds while racking our brains about Sway have been:
- Introducing your company to potential clients through business competencies like awards and recognitions
- Creating product presentations that show both videos and images of the product
- Making training presentations that include images, videos, and text to help your customers use your products
- Creating a monthly newsletter (like our November 2014 edition) or a “weekly digest” to send to your customers
Those are just a few of the endless potential uses of Sway that we have been able to compose. Do you have any ideas that Sway could be used for? Or have you enlisted Sway as a tool for your company? If so, leave us a comment or send us a message with your ideas and experiences so we can spread the word to other readers.
Microsoft is always pushing the bar higher and higher with new updates. Stay informed of these updates by joining our Weekly Digest email to stay ahead of the curve and your competition.
